1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files saved in the browser. The Website also uses the browser's local storage (localStorage), which works similarly: it stores a small piece of information on your device.

2. What cookies does the Website use?

A) Before you give consent

Until you make a choice on the banner, the Website does not save any cookies and does not run any analytics tools.

Your choice from the banner is saved in the browser's local storage (localStorage, key cookie-consent) so that you are not asked about it on every visit. This is solely information about consent or its absence, without any data about you.

B) Analytics (only after consent) - Google Analytics 4

Only after you click "Accept" does the Website load the Google Analytics 4 script, which saves its own cookies: _ga and _ga with the measurement stream identifier. They are used to distinguish visits and sessions in the statistics. Their lifetime is set by the tool provider, by default up to 2 years.

After choosing "Essential only" or when no choice is made, no Google Analytics script is loaded and these cookies are not created.

C) External

The Website does not embed forms or players from other services on its pages. Links to Calendly, Tally, YouTube, Spotify, and LinkedIn lead to those providers' sites, where their own policies apply and where they may save their own cookies.

The font used on the Website (Inter) is self-hosted and loaded from the piotrmichalowski.com domain. It does not connect to Google servers and does not transfer your IP address to external providers.

3. How long are cookies stored?

  • Session cookies: until the browser is closed.
  • Persistent cookies: until their validity expires or they are deleted manually (for Google Analytics 4, by default up to 2 years).
  • Consent choice record (localStorage): until consent is withdrawn or the site data is cleared in the browser.

4. Consent and its withdrawal

  1. On the first visit, the Website shows a cookie banner with two options: "Accept" (consent to analytics cookies) and "Essential only" (without analytics).
  2. Consent covers analytics only. Without it the Website works normally and no feature is disabled.
  3. You can withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. The banner then appears again and you can choose differently.
  4. After withdrawing consent, the Website deletes Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page to return to a state without analytics.
  5. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out earlier.

5. How to manage cookies in your browser?

At any time you can:

  • delete cookies in your browser settings,
  • block the saving of cookies,
  • restrict cookies for selected sites.

Clearing the site data also removes the saved consent choice, so the banner will appear on your next visit.
